An album for addicts
Review of Trainspotting Vol.1 - Original Soundtrack by jomothepure

Advantages: a varied yet distinct compilation
Disadvantages: -1 or 2 tracks a minor weak point

In my opinion, an absolutely fantastic compilation of tracks, true to the film and a must for any fan of either the film or great British music. The album - 14 tracks in length - opens with a vibrant opening number from Iggy Pop, 'Lust for Life' who also contributes the wonderfully sleazy 'Nightclubbing.' Most of the other tracks over an eclectic mix of tunes whilst inkeeping with the context of the film and its 1990s Brit/drug context. As well ...
...numbers include 'Mile End' by Pulp, 'Sleeper' by Atomic and '2:1' by Elastica. 'Born Sliipy' by Underworld is another fantastic addition which is now the epitome of the '90s disco culture. I personally found one or two of the tracks - such as 'Trainspotting' by Primal Scream - not quite inkeeping with the rest of the album, or not quite living up to the exciting and provoking nature of the others and the place they had in the film (like Iggy Pop's ...
