...More Life In A Tramps Vest is in my opinion one of, if not the best Stereophonics song ever! It is from the debut album Word Gets Around which is an amazing album and More Life In A Tramps Vest is just one of the great songs on the album! Kelly Jones' voice just sounds amazing (as usual) on this track and the lyrics are really good and funny too! It has a really catchy tune and it is great to sing a long to!
So if you don't already have this song or you haven't heard it before go out and buy it or buy the album it is brilliant!!!!!!...

The orchestration is a major factor in this period of Jimmy Webb. He had a lot of creative juices to vent and he mastered the assembled musicians to a tee. As mentioned previously, he was a perfectionist in ever respect and would do many takes until he was relatively happy with the result.
The stand out songs are 'Didn't We' (there is a strange segment that starts the album and then breaks into 'Didn't We' - this album is written like a concept album [in keeping with the times]). It showcases Jimmys songwriting. He like to throw strange shapes into his songwriting. Just as you are expecting a ryhming couplet, you'll get a devious extra line. For anyone who has ever tried to write a song or lyric, this man is the guy to observe.
Then we have 'Name Of My Sorrow...

...The track 'More Life in A Tramps Vest' by the Stereophonics is one of the 11 tracks on their debut Word Gets Around album, which is one of , if not the best album they have ever made.
The track has a quick tempo, has a simple beat and rhythm (provided by their original and now ex-drummer Stuart Cable) and of course the very distinctive gravely voice of lead singer Kelly Jones. The song, to me, sums up what life can be like in a small village, with people bickering and gossiping about really trivial things which are important to them yet to a young person seems pathetic and boring. The lyrics are catchy and clever and brings a smile to face whenever I hear the track.
The Word Gets Around album is quite old now, having being released in 1997 so rather than hunt around for the single I would highly recommend getting the album...
