Trance Power Vol.1 - Various Artists

Advantages: A different, new style of Trance
Disadvantages: Not to all tastes.

...A good album, I bought this 3 CD set in 2008 for £15 off the net. First of all, don't expect this to be a normal Euphoria CD. Most of the music is Goa(India) derived and it is a completely new sound in terms of usual trance. Headed by John '00' Fleming and 00 db. It has a distinct Asian feel to it, which I think is rather good, but I don't think it would suit all tastes. Many of the artists I have never heard of. John Fleming gives good commentary explaining his views and thoughts on his choices of tracks. The package is bright, very colourful and imagative and the discs are all coloured brightly. Advantages: A good mix of songs
Disadvantages: Doesnt help you get through the housework

...A cd thats a couple of years old now but still fun to listen to. I mean this cd says its meant to help you through the housework but I personally dont think it really does,if anything it distracts you,because you just start singing along to all the great tracks this album has to offer, you get caught up in the music and completely lose track of what you were doing - maybe a good thing in a way :-) Housework vol 1 is a double album that has some cracking songs that you just dont seem to hear on the radio anymore such as The Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda and Don McLeans - American Pie. The songs on this album just make you feel good and really help to lift your spirits,but I honestly think its marketed wrong,this is a feel good album for anyone just not people doing the housework.I dont think the title of the album really represents... Advantages: packed full of hits, some lesser known, as well as a CD of new anthems in the making
Disadvantages: Heard them all before? Possibly! But we still love them

...new to trance, some may be, or if you are looking for a walk down memory lane and haven't bought one of these albums in a few years you may just enjoy what Dave has blended together. The albums saving grace is CD 3 which does have a more up-to-date selection of club tracks for your aural enjoyment. So how does it breakdown? As i've said briefly, CD's 1 and 2 are made up of staple classic tracks from seminal trance artists such as Matt Darey, Chicane, Angelli & Nelson, Paul Van Dyk, Faithless, the list goes on! CD 3 brings us bang into 2009, or well more technically some of the tracks that were big towards the latter end of 2008. It would be unfair to judge this CD on the lack of real upfront 2009 tracks, having only been released 3 months into a new year.
