...SITAR SOUL is like foreever kind of a music which really opens the hidden truth of life by bringing mental peace to your mind. I think Ravi shankar is capable and even famous for Composing Music which is not composed by rules.No doubt his music is inexpressible Im a DIE HARD fan of Pandit Ravi Shankar ,after silence the next thing which comes to my mind is his SITAR.I feel this is one of his best creations.Raga Mishra Kafi and Raga Mian Ki Malhar are my favourites among all tracks. SITAR played by him in this album really kills the silence.Im pretty sure that SOUL OF SITAR will definately going to touch everybody's soul ,after all its straight from Pandit ji's heart & soul. ...i can put my hand on my heart and reccomend this to every single one of you out there. Anoushka shankars first album called anourag was fairly dissapointing, it was good but for the daughter of ravi shankar ji i would say that she needed vast improvement. then i heard her album rise and i liked some of it but the fact was that i dispise remix type modern music with such a deep intense music. then this cd came out and i got it. i was soo astonished to see the improvement in her playing. the ragas she plays are brilliant and she is soo talented. i think this is an album that is a must have for all of you especially those who are new to indian music or who have only heard her first cds.... ...What can i say! Pandit Ravi Shankarji is an absolute legend. Having met him twice I have had the experience of meeting a true guru of music. This cd is what you can really call world global fusion. Its a lovely blend of all sorts of music but it also has some indian classical tracks such as track 5 which happens to be my absolute favourite! i love it to bits. The whole thing is very well orchestrated. The music is also astheitically pleasing and there are some good on the go tracks for car/ train journeys! :D This cd is an amazing blend of indian modes and scales with western ideaology and orchestration but the combination is so well done that the result blows you away. I would definately reccomend this to anyone who is interested in world music. Also, it is great for people learning about orchestration or fusion.... Read review
