Advantages: Super melodic Canadian punk/alt rock, LIVE! Disadvantages: Not enough tracks!
...Long have I waited for anoter decent live album. After many constant listenings of Blink 182's The Mark, Tom and Travis show, finally another decent live album! Certainly lacking with the immature jokes, however knocking you back with a powerful performances from the Canadian group, comes this, Simple Plan at MTV Hard RockLIVE.
Opening track "Shut up", first single from their most recent album, kicks the set into first gear after a somewhat atmospheric introduction of sirens. The band then power through their set.
Many of the well known hits surface for the crowd at the hard rock, including "im just a kid", "crazy", "addicted", "worst day ever" and "i'd do anything".
The band finish their set on a somewhat more emotional note, with two of their more sublte songs. "Untitled" and "Perfect" invite the audience to sing along...

Advantages: The mix of songs is good. Disadvantages: Theres some of the classics missing :-( .
...Any new Iron Maiden material will undoubtabley be compared to the real classics of the past and the CD consolidates some of those. The CD features classics such as Brave New World, Blood Brothers and Wrathchild. Iron Maiden are one of the most energetic bands ever and from the sounds of the Brazilian crowd, they couldn't agree more!!! Only Iron Maiden have this style. The disc was recorded at the music festival of the same name in Rio De Janiero, Brazil in 2001.
It's difficult to not compare Rock In Rio to Live After Death after all, the new disc features a band 16 years older, and hopefully wiser than before their ranks began to split a bit. While it's not the perfect portrait of where Iron Maiden is in the 21st Century, hopefully it offers an insight of greater things to come.

Advantages: Fantastic Sound, wonderfully played. Disadvantages: Track listing my dissapoint
...My message is simple for this live album:
If you like Iron Maiden, you must own this!
I have a huge pile of CDs, about a third of it is Iron Maiden, which does mean a huge CD pile. However Rock In Rio is always on the top. There isnt anything more exciting for me than listening to the roar of 250,000 fans grow as the album begins.
....Hang on... 250,000?
Lets list a small list of facts about the amount of people in that huge crowd at that time!
- Two hundred and fifty thousand (So no extra zeros added onto the number my mistake!)
- Quarter of a million!
- Two and a half old wembley stadiums!
Rock In Rio was the final gig in the world tour of brave new world. We get to hear a hugely powerful Intro named Arthur's Farewell, followed by Adrian Smith cranking out The Wicker Man.
We rarely get to hear to electricity drop...
