Additional notes
Album Notes: The music of supergroup the Traveling Wilburys was never meant to be taken too seriously. And perhaps because of this, the records had fallen completely out of print by the mid 1990s, a shocking occurrence for a triple platinum band. Rhino Records came to the rescue, however, with this fantastic set that includes not only both proper Wilbury albums (VOL. 1 and VOL. 3), but a handful of bonus tracks from each session, a DVD with all the videos and behind-the-scenes footage, and detailed liner notes.

...Many people will say "who?" when you tell them you just bought this collectors edition. Mention the names of the band members and watch the reaction.
FInally reissued after too many years in the wildrness these tracks are sounding better then ever.
People after a taste should go for the standard release.
To fans in the know THIS is the version to get. With the way the discs are presented you know you are in for a treat. The expanded booklet notes and photos (twice as much) over and above the standard version make up for the higher price. All the Wilbury classics are here along with some videos (although I am sure there are some missing). The set is a limited run and all are numbered, so don't hessitate and miss out....

Advantages: One of his best solo albums - in fact, possibly THE best Disadvantages: That front cover design (but see review)
...'Brainwashed' was the album George Harrison, 'The Quiet One' of the Beatles, began working on around two years before his death in November 2001. He had already undergone treatment for cancer, and a violent physical assault on him in 1999 had clearly taken its toll. Yet there's a total absence of self-pity about these songs. Occasionally there is anger at the state of the world around him, but on the whole it's a remarkably uplifting collection of work from a man who had been away from the recording scene for several years – his last previous studio album as a soloist was released in 1987 - and who was determined to leave a real blinder for the world to remember him by.
Left unfinished at his death, it was completed by former ELO man, TravelingWilbury colleague and honorary Beatle Jeff Lynne, and George's son Dhani, both of whom add...

Advantages: Good commercial songs Disadvantages: Dodgy lyrics
...This was the album which indirectly led to the TravelingWilburys getting together in the first place, though it wasn't released until 1989, after the TW's first. Though not credited to Tom and the Heartbreakers, it features all of them apart from drummer Stan Lynch, with occasional appearances by Wilburys George Harrison and Roy Orbison, plus Jeff Lynne, who co-produced the album and co-wrote seven tracks, on various instruments throughout. The songs are some of the most tuneful and catchy that Tom has ever recorded, and the good crisp uncluttered sound sets them off well. The greatest hit, the Top 30 song "I Won't Back Down", almost defies you not to yell along with the chorus (it sounds brilliant on the car radio!), and the subsequent singles "Runnin' Down a Dream" and "Free Fallin'" are also 80s transatlantic pop-rock at its best...
