Advantages: Phenomenal, yet sick Debut Disadvantages: Some weaker moments as expected
...adored over sales and exposure. Unfortunately, that is the relative problem with the music industry when it comes to rap... this always happens... until 1999 when everything changed.
Eminem, born Marshall Mathers, was a hip-hop fan since youth. In listening to his idols such as Nas, Biggie, Redman, Rakim, Outkast, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, N.W.A. and many more, he wanted to be like these artists, who never cared about selling out (at least not during this time), and only wanted to bring realness and respect to hip-hop music. After a troubled childhood, he finally got to record his first EP entitled Infinite and released it in 1996. Poor sales and lack of exposure plagued the otherwise worthy album and it never sold anything. Soon after he adapted a sort of changed style, creating an semi insane hip-hop alter-ego named Slim Shady...

Well this album was released by Michael Bolton, as it says, in december 2003. It has at least one cover on it (Track 6, When A ManLoves A Woman), which was done by Percy Sledge a while back.
It has a really uplifting track to kickstart the album, with Love Is A Wonderful Thing. ...Well I wanted this album as soon as I knew it had been released. I'd been listening to quite a bit of Stevie and was sooo excited when I heard 'So What The Fuss' - how can a man just get better and better and more importantly funkier with age! It's amazing.
I'm always a bit scared about buying new albums because music means the world to me. I'm always scared of maybe not liking something but this album is fabulous. There are some great duets too. It's just the epitomy of funk. If you're a Stevie fan, it is a must.
Sweetest Somebody I Know is a fabulous song. So upbeat and full of love. From the Bottom of My Heart reminds me of his earlier stuff. My Love Is On Fire is a gutsy tune. Shelter In The Rain is sublime and So What The Fuss just makes you want to get up and dance. Positivity is another funkier track. They're all great...
