...Enya, (Eithne Patricia Ní Bhraonáin,) is an Irish singer who has been performing for many years, as a singer and songwriter. She was born into a musical family in Donegal Ireland in 1961, with her grandmother, father, and mother all being musical performers. Enya began performing with Clannad in the 1980?s, playing the keyboard and doing backing vocals, although she was never recognized as a real member of the band. When Nicky Ryan decided to stop working as the bands producer, Enya teamed up with him to launch her own solo career, with "An Ghaoth Ón Ghrian" ("The Solar Wind") and "Miss Clare Remembers". It wasn?t until 1984 however that she was first credited as Enya, a simplified pronunciation of her name, and the name then stuck. ...I am a 65-year-old woman and I like all the normal types of music for my age. Patsy Cline, Old blue eye’s himself Frank Sinatra, that kind of thing. But I recently borrowed a CD from my grandson, Enya – Paint the sky with stars – the best of Enya, and I thought it was absolutely wonderful. Enya is an Irish lady with a talent for playing a host of instruments, most notably the piano. She has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard and after listening to this album I have asked my grandson to record it on his computer for me, so it can take pride of place in my collection. Below is a description of some of my favorite tracks from it, followed by the full album listing. ...I was prompted to shake the dust off a neglected corner of my record collection by a review posted by Nar recently. "The True Legacy of a Legendary Musical Divorce?" is about the Album "Legacy, a Tribute to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours" - a CD of cover versions of the songs from the classic Mac album 'Rumours' released in 1977.
