Advantages: Location, location, location Disadvantages: Noisy for some guests
We went on holiday to Majorca for 10 days in July and stayed at the Sol Trinidad hotel in Magaluf. We have been to Magaluf in the past and stayed at a Sol hotel which we really liked and so decided to give this one a go. We booked it off teletext and stayed half-board.
The hotel has 375 rooms spread over 9 floors, we had a pool view room on the forth floor which was quite handy as the two (very small!) lifts were out of action a few times and I was grateful for only having to climb four flights of stairs.
It is situated a 2 minute walk across the road to the beach, and the road along the front of the hotel has lots of shops (clothes, souvenirs, booze, fags etc) and the road behind mainly bars and BCM the major nightclub where Radio 1 were doing there live weekend while we were there. A previous host back in Havana had kindly made arrangements for a friend of his, another casa particular owner, to put us up in Trinidad and Pedro took us straight to his house on the edge of Trinidad?s quaint and colourful colonial old town, taking short cuts down narrow alleyways while we tried to remember landmarks. We were hungry, tired and somewhat taken aback by all the hustle and bustle going on around us. Pedro seemed to know everyone in Trinidad and shook hands with the men he met and pointed out things of interest along the short walk up the hill to the house he shares with his wife, Carmen.
Trinidad has few big tourist hotels, the few there are in the area are mainly situated on the beach a few miles away at Playa Ancon and so locals have been given more or less free reign in letting out their spare rooms. The quality varies from ...

In this book - "Angels Fall" - Nora Roberts mixes mystery and romance.
This book, published in 2006, contains three main subplots in the story -- a murder mystery, Reece's romance with Brody, and Reece's struggle to gain back normality.
Ms Roberts manages to incorporate the three aspects together resulting into and novel.
The story starts with the heroine, cook Reece Gilmore, as her car has broken down in Angel's Fist, Wyoming.
Reece decides decides to stay in the little town for a day - but that day turns into months as she takes a a job as a cook in the local diner, rents the apartment upstairs and settles into town life at Angel's Fist.
It is then, through dreams and flashbacks from Reece, that e learn that she hasbeen the victim of a viscious and brutal crime in ...
