Cherish is an R&B group from Atlanta, Georgia. They have a distinctive sound as much of their production is done by Jazzy Pha, who works closely with Ciara. Both she and Cherish sing their R&B tunes to club music, and the club music which is the most popular in this southern state is Crunk, so it is considered to be Crunk & B. Something else key to the group is that they are all sisters, with a set of twins, so it's expected that they will work together well and should stick around for a while.

"The Truth" is Cherish's second album following "Unappreciated", which got to #80 in the UK and #4 across the Atlantic. This album debuted much lower at #40 and didn't chart here.

"Killa" (featuring Yung Joc)

This was the leading single from the album, and it also featured as one of the main songs from the smash street dance film "Step Up 2 The Streets". The song fits in to the soundtrack to the movie in my opinion.

Although it was well, it doesn't mean its a good track. I felt it was highly overrated, and only the additional rhymes by the Atlanta rapper Yung Jocappealed to me here, but I expect many would enjoy the rest of the song too, it's just not my thing.

**Two Stars**

"I Ain't Trippin'"

This is a big Crunk & B track which excites you from the first couple of seconds when you hear the mood building up with the claps, before an explosion of sound, which the group exploit to produce great results.

The quartet do a shoulder brush in this track as they express that they have moved on from their relationships with guys, even before their other half has a chance to say its over. I feel that this is a great uplifter as it is very care-free and brings you ino this mind set.

**Four Stars**

"Amnesia"

This is a more acousic track than the rest of the material on the LP as the production is a very minimal, in the verses especially. In my opinion the theme given in the title is expanded with the music which complementsit as it contrasts so greatly from most of the rest of the album.

The song gives a strong feeling of struggling to advance in life, and it basiclly contradicts everything in "I Ain't Trippin'", as they spoke on thier strength, but I doubt that many will notice this inconsistancy regarding how they cope with challenging situations.

**Three Stars**

"Notice"

This one takes half a minute to get into, but it's worth the wait, and I believe that the build up would create a mad atmosphere in the clubs before the bass drop is introduced to switch everything up and create a high-energy vibe.

This one is fairly slow, but it certainly isn't soft as it has a hard beat to it which reinforces their distinctive Crunk & B style, keeping them consistant and not allowing them to get into all of that mainstream R&B.

**Three Stars**

"Framed Out"

Cherish basically take us through their Friday night routine from when they get dressed, up to when they ultimately go to the club. All of this time staying "Framed Out", which essential means they are fly and have it going on. The lyrics aren't really important though as this is just an attempt at showing that they are super fresh.

**Three Stars**

"Before U Were My Man"

Although you may think that its a strange thing to say, this track is a perfect ringtone when you consider which of the other top ringtone have emerged : Soulja Boy's "Crank That", "Walk It Out" but DJ Unnk and Lil' Wayne's "Lollipop", which this one reminds me quite a bit of in terms of ho the production has been done.

The topic for this one is quite strange as it's all about a past relationship which happens to be with the current best friend of the person who they now call their man. I didn't think much to this set p for the song, but I felt it was irrevelant because I expect it to be successful if eventually it becomes a single. I cerainly think it has the potential to do so.

**Three Stars**

"Superstar"

This is a nice little song, but because it's so focused on the lyrics, and all the attention is taken away from the bet, I couldn't appreciate it that much. However if the soft backing music had been replaced I would have really enjoyed this as I liked the subject a lot.

The theme of this is that regardless of your appearance, people who are in love will always see their partner as a superstar. Here lots of things which would make them appear less appealing are listed, but these never lessen the amoutn of love which is shown.

**Two Stars**

"Only One"

This is a reassuring track as it talks about how any doubts and insecurities which jealous partners may have, can be dropped, because of the countless things which the Cherish girls say they do to make sure iy's clear that there is "Only One" person in thier lives who is important.

The track itself is lighter than many of the other songs,a nd this is required to allow a person who is hearing this to have it sound genuwine.

**Three Stars**

"Love Sick"

Some futuristic electronica sounds are used in this track and it initially put me off the entire song, because this is a genre of music which I despise. However I knew that they wouldn't escape me like this,a nd adapt a new style completely, but it still meant that the tune was weaker than the majority of the LP.

**Two Stars**

"Damages"

This is a hard track which really brings the Crunk side of the girls to the forefront; going big with an in-you-face display of club, part R&B, which is just too hardcore forr a mainstream audience, so this isn't for anyone who may be too soft for this kind of track. So they should stand back.

You can really hear that the Cherish girls are in a rage for this track as they talk about a day which begins wakign on the wrong side of the bed, and excalates from this initial off-putting feeling in the morning to rebelling against everything for the remainder of the day.

**Four Stars**

"Like A Drum"

The drums in this track are really exaggerated to fit in with the subject of the song as the mood is suddenly switched up, as a serious theme emerges, forcing the hear to beat "Like A Drum" with some challenging news to the ear.

**Three Stars**

I'm dissapointed that this album didn't seell as it should have because I really enjoyed this album. There is a lot to like about this album with there being so much diversity, and as it is so compact, I expect that they cut out all of the risky track, so I think they came up with good results.
