As you may or may not (depending on the reading of my previous reviews) know that I have a slight infactuation with the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Mayer. Last friday I went to see the second installment movie adaptation by Chris Weitz and I was incredibly impressed.
New Moon isn't my favourite book because of the lack of the Cullens - it doesn't quite satisfy my thirst for knowledge on the mythical history and influence of vampires but the film was enough to almost transfer me to Team Jacob.

Angel City appeared way back in 2003 with 'Love Me Right' which became a dance anthem. They then went away roped in vocalist Lara Macalan (spelt wrong lol) to make a full album. Since then they have had a string of singles 'Touch Me', 'Do You Know (I Go Crazy)' and recently 'Sunrise'. Now most dance acts make an album which bombs and they are barely heard of again! Will Angel City end up Jobless-in-the-City?
Opening track is afore mentioned debut hit 'Love Me Right'. Whats the 'oh shelia' bit about? anyway you know doubt know this. Its a good old dance ditty that had everyone dancing round handbags! Breathy lyrics + sexy vid + catchy dance beat = hit!

From the outside, Bleak House is nothing if not a daunting prospect - my copy was over 800 pages of dusty mid-1800s prose. Even with the benefit of having watched the TV series and so beginning with a reasonable knowledge of plot and characters, I was still expecting the read to be more a trudge than a thrill ride. It caught me by surprise, therefore, how good this book turned out to be.
To begin with, the characterisation was expectional - sympathetic characters such as Esther and Ada, coupled with comedic characters such as Miss Flite and a truly despicable pantomime villian in Mr Tulkinghorn. Along with these traditional character types, Dickens also includes some more complex individuals. Lady Dedlock, the bored noblewoman with a chequered history, is one of my favourite female characters in any book I've read.
