Advantages: Great talents Disadvantages: The talents wore out and were never that good!
...Having written this opinion a while back now, the actual splitting of STEPS has not affected me at all! This opinion was all hyped on how long STEPS were going to last written back in 2001! Now they have actually split up...
StEpS WAS a band of 5 which included Faye, Lisa, claire, Lee and H who had been around for quite a while and finally realised there time was up! I have no right to say that STEPS were a complete failure because they were totally 100% not! They were a sucessful band/group but came and went just like the once famous 'sPiCe gIrLs' but sTePs actually split making their ' long era' actually come to a shooting halt!
THE STEPS UPWARDS

The group came together in 1997 when there was a competition, all 5 members of sTePs came together together to form the amazing group.
The band then released...

Vaka: the name of Orri's daughter
Fyrsta: The First Song
Samsketyi: Attachment
Njósnavélin: The Spy Machine
Alafoss: The Band's studio
E-bow: Jónsi's effect with using a cello bow to play his guitar
Dauðalagið: The Death Song
Popplagið: The Pop Song
As can be seen, the tracks are uniformly quite long, but there is no Pink Floydian excess here; each song seems to be perfectly crafted and seems to be sent out exactly as it was supposed to be (it should be - they had to remove part of the roof of the Alafoss studio so that a crane could get...

Advantages: Sonic bliss from Iceland's best export Disadvantages: Should eight tracks cover 72 minutes?
...)
And that really sums up Sigur Rós. The music they write is as much music for the people who buy it as it is the music the band wants to make. I have included the working titles for the tracks as they don't have titles. They should provide a better understanding of the songs and of the album as a whole.

2. (Fyrsta) - literally, the 'first' (song). Starts with a strange cacophony of moaning voices, which are soon joined by a guitar ostinato oozing sadness and later Jónsi's haunting vocals...
