side-project of alt.country act Beachwood Sparks or vice-versa--the two bands share three members in the shape of singer/guitarist Brent Rademaker, drummer Chris Gunst and guitarist Dave Scher--butTwicequietly insists that you take it very seriously indeed. A sweet, mercurial foray into lip-quivering American indie-rock infused with the blissful aroma of Creation-style schmindie ambience and the woody scent of paisley-clad cosmic country, this album is a peculiarly transatlantic proposition: are the Tyde more Felt than Gram Parsons? More Orange Juice than Dylan? You'll change your mind every song. Best to ignore the reference points, then, and look straight to Rademaker's heartfelt, sensitive quaver. "Cut me down / Run me out of town / I'll find another place to play" he sings on "A Loner", as the sort of neat, heartache-inducing jangle that Peter Buck perfected on REM'sAutomatic for the Peoplechimes out around him. It's not all totally winsome, mind: the chugging "Blood Brothers" proves Rademaker hides a sharp sense of humour somewhere in his laconic drawl and the throwaway "Shortbread City" is a rowdy beer-sinker that wears its cheesy key-change with pride. --Louis Pattison

Advantages: Great atmospheric and artistic Bond film Disadvantages: Nothing really
Following a 2 year gap from 1965, Bond returned to the big screen in 1967 with this offering, You Only Live Twice, once again starring the charismatic Sean Connery, but with Lewis Gilbert in the director's chair for this one.
The Plot
With the Cold War ever intense, criminal organisation S.P.E.C.T.R.E. tries another tack. American and Russian spacecraft have disappeared in outer space, and they are blaming each other. Anxious to avoid all out war, Bond is dispatched to Japan to seek out the perpetrators. This time, he comes face to face with S.P.E.C.T.R.E.'s number 1, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Bond's arch enemy.
The Cast and Performances
Connery returns again as Bond for the 5th time, in what was supposed to be his last outing as the MI6 agent. He went on to do another two Bond films. Donald Pleasance is excellently chilling as ...
Advantages: Smells Nice Disadvantages: Not Widely Available
I always know that Christmas has just gone and that I am a 30-something year old male because my cupboard is usually brimming with bottles of Aftershave.
One such product that I have just received is an Italian fragrance called Iceberg Twice by Eurocosmesi. This product was first launched back in 1998 by Giulana Marchini from the Design House of Iceberg that had made its name in designer clothing and proposing the idea of fashionable Sportswear.
Iceberg Twice is recommended for everyday use and also for office wear. It is classified as a refreshing, spicy fragrance created from the essences of Bergamot, Jasmine, Rose, Coffee and Musk.
The product comes in various different sizes. My particular gift was a 125ml bottle that came packaged in a grey rectangular box that felt like it was made from Suede. Inside this box ...
You Only Live Twice is the fifth film in the James Bond series and was released in 1967. It was the first film in the series to be based on an original screenplay rather than a Fleming novel and was written by popular children's author Roald Dahl. Fleming's story of an amnesiac Bond stalking Blofeld in a strange Japanese castle was discarded in favour of an outlandish script which sees the United States and Soviet Union played off agaisnt each other by SPECTRE in an attempt to start World War III. SPECTRE is hijacking spacecraft in orbit and hoping that the two powers will blame each other. James Bond (Sean Connery) is sent to investigate by the British government and the trail leads to Ernst Stavro Blofeld, here in the form of Donald Pleasance having his first onscreen encounter with 007...
You Only Live Twice is widely regarded to ...
The Tyde: darren Rademaker (vocals, guitar); Ben Knight (guitar, background vocals); Ann Do (piano, synthesizer); Brent rademaker (bass, background vocals); Ric Menck (drums, percussion).
Album Reviews
Spin (10/03, p.113) - "...11 jangly, high-on-lowlife, guitar pop songs....It's California dreaming as a way of life..." - Grade: B Uncut (6/03, p.116) - 4 stars out of 5 - "...There's much to admire in the fretwork of Rademaker and Ben Knight, too, joining the dots between Johnny Marr, Roger McGuinn and Felt's Maurice Deebank to underpin the hooks with sun-blonde crispness..." CMJ (6/23/03, p.6) - "...Dominated by surf pop and highlighted with an experimental edge reminiscent of Chicago's the Sea And Cake..."
