...Fans of Coronation Street will know that this evergreen soap opera has just celebrated its fortieth anniversary. This album has been issued to celebrate the occasion. The 2 CD compilation features Number One hits from the past forty years, one song for each year counting back from 2000.Now I am sometimes a bit wary of compilation albums;often you get one or two good tracks and a lot of dross, or songs so well-worn that you have them all on other albums. Not so with this album. There are lots of great songs, all hits, all well worth listening to. The album begins and ends with the Coronation Street theme tune (okay, but this is a tribute album) The album then kicks off with “Fool Again” by Westlife, followed by ”When The Going Gets Tough” by Boyzone.Neither group is really my choice, but they’re not bad... Advantages: Timeless Classic
Disadvantages: Very long film

...As a child I watched 'The Sound of Music' on video at least fifty times - especially over the summer holidays! I just loved it - I dont particularly enjoy old movies - but this one seems to get under your skin and you enjoy it. My husband doesnt enjoy this type of movie however he bought me the DVD for Christmas last year and I have watched it with my children who really enjoyed it. Because its almost three hours long - we had to watch it over a few days but they soon learnt the melodies and words to the classic 'Doe a deer...'. I would recommend this film to anyone who had the slightest interest in musicals - its really something special.... Read review

Advantages: 2 CDs - bought it cheap from ebay - lots of songs
Disadvantages: had most of the songs anyway!

...This is a 2 CD album, i bought it dead cheap on ebay (about £3) - it's prob loads more expensive in the shops!!.. features loads of artists and songs - i'll go through as much of them as i can!!!.. Ok - CD 1.. First there is 'Off The Wall - Michael Jackson' - i like MJ so i think this is a good choice of song.. 'I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) - Michael, George & Aretha Franklin' - was a bit surprised about this song being on an RnB collection - even though Aretha is very soul/RnB - i would not have put this song in an RnB collection & plus i dont particularly think this is a very good song anyway (sorry any G Micheal fans!).. then we have 'Crazy In Love (no rap version) - Beyonce' - i absolutely hate this song now! it's been heard and played way too much and doesnt deserve to be on this album! im sure it is already...
