Review of Just Be - DJ Tiesto by thestrayedproject

Advantages: It features the vocal talents of Kirsty Hawkshaw
Disadvantages: Hardcore trance fans might be disappointed

...Tiesto is known for his hard hitting tance anthems such as the unforgettable 'Traffic', this album however combines ambient trance with some of the more well known tunes he has produced. The best thing about this album is the featured artists such as BT and Kirsty Hawkshaw. Kirsty has an amazing voice, better than any of the other trance girl singers on the scene at the moment, and she really brings Tiesto's lyrics to life. The downside to this album is that some of the tracks are a little slow for what you expect from Tiesto, but if you're prepared to take time out and actually sit down and properly listen to the album you will take it in what Tiestois trying to do a whole lot better. I have this album in my collection and i like it. My favourite tracks being UR and Just Be, these are two of the slower tracks, but it is something... Read review

Meet the Furries!!
Review of Fuzzy Logic - Super Furry Animals by kepler3001

Advantages: Distorted fuzzy guitars + strange lyrics
Disadvantages: Not exactly mainstream

...Released on the 20th May 1996 ‘Fuzzy Logic’ is the debut album of the Welsh band Super Furry Animals (SFA). For those of you who not familiar with the band they consist of Gruff Rhys - Lead Singer/Guitar Huw Bunford - Guitar Guto Price - Bass Guitar Dafydd Ieuan - Drums Cian Ciaran - Keyboard/Electronics Before I move onto the album I will give you a little information on the band and their history. Originally formed in the early 1990’s SFA toured the north coast of France as a techno outfit. It wasn’t until 1995 that they started to play more guitar-based music and they finally signed to the famous Welsh indie band label Ankst. They released two EP’s on this label to critical acclaim and whilst gigging in London they were spotted by Creation Records (the home of Oasis) boss Alan McGee who immediately noticed their potential... Review of Veni Vidi Vicious - Hives (The) by Flash-Hammer

Advantages: A few decent songs
Disadvantages: over half of it is crap, vocals

...and drummer Chris Dangerous. They always wear matching snazzy black and white outfits, and are known for their cocky attitude, an attitude that in rock can at times be appealling and cool, and at others just annoying, something the Hives do far more than the former. In 1997, the band released their debut album, Barely Legal, I've only ever heard one song from this album, and while the song was quite good, Im willing to bet it is probably even worse than this album. This bomb dropped in 2000, and the band were looking set to be stuck in the punk scene playing stuff like the Warped Tour and things like that until their careers ended, until a stroke of luck hit them. The band's sound was really less like NOFX and such, and more like this new trend that was emerging, dubbed Garage Revivial. This was spotted by genius/tosser Alan McGee, the man... Read review
