Not all classics, but still a classic collection

42 All-Time Classics is a game you should have if you own a DS. There's something in there for everyone and although the box says ages 12+, I have to disagree. I'm pretty sure there are some smart kids out there much younger that 12 who would give you a run for your money in multi-player mode. The games can be played single and multi-player against another DS opponent or the computer. Multi-player can be over the internet or wirelessly with another DS. You can also give another DS user a "gift" where you would send one of the games to his/her DS and they can play until they turn the DS off. When you first switch on you are presented with the start screen and three options, Single player, Multiplayer and Settings. The settings button is for adjusting background sound and music. 42 all-time classics.. the perfect name.

Advantages: mixture of card games and boardgames
Disadvantages: there could always be more games.

Since getting my DS i have been looking for games that go beyond the stable mario etc and 42 All-time Classics is one of the best i have come across. Featuring the likes of solitaire, rummy, blackjack and texas hold`em it is a great mix for card lovers. They have mixed in some extra games like billiards, darts and mahjong to add something new. Stamp play lets you try all of the games starting off easy and moving on level by level through all 42 games Mission play uses most of the games but uses rules set by the DS (some of them sound easy but the DS rules add that extra edge to the game) A great buy for all lovers of cards and boardgames. ...

101 solitaire games - Solitaire Ultimate Collection for DS

Advantages: Lots of different games, well presented
Disadvantages: Limited graphics and sound, could do with using both screens when playing

This review is for the Nintendo DS game, Solitaire Ultimate Collection, developed and published by Koch Media. The game consists of a wide range of different card games which you can play on your own. There are 101 different solitaire games in this collection which are placed into various categories, so it will take you a while to work through them all. There are instructions from them all, so learning the games doesn't take too long, and tutorials are there if you need them. There are a few games however which are quite complex, so they do take a little while to understand. As you play through each game, you're able to keep statistics on your performance, which does give you an incentive to keep playing a game to improve your average score. As you would expect though, some of the games are a lot easier to win at than others ...
