This album is a must for any self-respecting fan of the artist now known as Yusuf Islam.Many of Cat’s fans were shocked when he appeared to turn his back on the music scene to embrace Islam, but we have here a legacy of his best songs in his unique, lilting voice. The album includes some of his early hits;”I Love My Dog”,”Matthew and Son”, and his version of the song which was later a hit for Rod Stewart,”The First Cut Is The Deepest.” There are also songs which contain some thought-provoking lyrics, such as “Father and Son” and “Where Do The Children Play?”and Cat’s well-known version of the beautiful hymn “Morning Has Broken.”Also my own particular favourites,”Moonshadow.” And “Oh Very Young.” All in all, this is an inspirational album which will never date.
