Ultimate Folk Songs Experience, The - Paddy Reilly

Advantages: Jam packed, well presented, great inclusions.
Disadvantages: 1 or 2 naff tracks but you can't please everyone!

...Now I was quite surprised to get this in my stocking for Christmas, obviously somneone had been doing their homework. I've got pretty eclectic tastes, ranging from indie, 80's, and rock, to dance and trance, so it was quite a nice surprise as I'd had my eye on this for a while. Released in mid-October 2005, the Ultimate Experience boasts a jam-packed tracklist of some stonking tunes, as well as some which are yet to reach the UK Charts. Featuring some key names in current dance music, their are some really cool inclusions on both discs. I tend to find that on releases such as this, the 2nd CD is usually packed full of obscure trance remixes from the likes that no-one has ever heard of, but this has been tastefully presented. Advantages: Contains songs that are rarely heard now
Disadvantages: Couple of poor songs

...This is a good CD and one that any Orangeman will enjoy. This includes some classic Orange songs that you will be familiar with and others that you won't be. Which is always good to find new songs that you can sing along too. My favourite track has to be "The Union Cruiser" which is great and also menitions a lot of good loyal places in Ulster. Also in my favourites are the first track "On Boyne's Red Shore" which is enjoyable listening to the facts before going into the song. Also enjoyable songs are, Lurgan Town, Battle of Garvagh, Crimson Banner and the final track with the fife and drum is just excellent. This is one CD that any Orangeman or woman can buy and should have in their collection... Read review

Advantages: All the classics,and some you had forgotten about in one place
Disadvantages: You have got to be in the mood for it

...Not just another compilation album. I actually enjoyed listening to this track,I feel it had substance and some really soppy love songs I havent heard in ages. I feel this album is suitable for almost anyone,its got some cracking tunes on there such as Stay (I Missed You) - Lisa Loeb and Tiny Dancer - Elton John to name but a few.I also feel this album was fun to lsiten to,as you could guess whats tracks matched upto which film (unless of course you cheated and just looked on the back) Either way this album provides all the great love songs all in one place,saving you time and effort in searching around for those tracks that you like listening to or the one of that film that you can never remember what its called. Either way I am starting to babble a little bit now,but what I am trying to get across is that this album is good value... Read review
