...Introduction
Santana evolved from the Fillmore West in the early 1960's. The Fillmore was started as a kind of youth club in down town San Francisco where kids from the poorer Bay area would come nightly to play basketball etc. The club became extremely popular, with some of the kids asking if they could practice their musical instruments afterwards.
Groups which resulted from the Fillmore reads like a who's who of West coast 1960's rock music including Santana, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead and Quicksilver Messenger Service.
Before long the musical side was becoming more popular than the youth club scene and the Fillmore as an auditorium was born. Local Fillmore posters were plastered over every billboard, but became so desirable for student walls, that they were taken as soon as they had been put up. Today...

Advantages: Great tracks and guest stars Disadvantages: specific music taste required on the whole
...Supernatural is the 1999 album from the Mexican Latin sensation Carlos Santana. It is said that this album kickstarted his career after a faltering from the guitar supremo in the mid-1990s. It is a magnificent collection of music with Latin and Cuban themes, and incorporates the musical talents of modern genius minds such as Wyclef Jean, Eric Clapton and Eagle-Eye Cherry. Track 5 'Smooth', featuring the vocal talents of Matchbox Twenty lead singer Rob Thomas was a massive interntaional hit. The album itself has gone 15 times platinum, and has won 9 Grammy awards.
I really like this album, particularly Everlast's invlovement in track 2, 'Put Your Lights On'. It is of a specific Latin/Cuban style, though, and will thus will only appeal to an audience favouring this style.
These are the tracks:
1. (Da Le) Taleo
2. Love Of My Life...

...Looking for some 'Smooth' chill out tunes. You're looking in the right place. Santana although a supernatural band name have great songs but they've had plenty of time to perfect it by now. After going all these years Santana still showed they could blast the charts with their excellent song, Smooth. It's a catchy rhythm to get your feet going and easy to go along with. Great chill out tune when you're driving in the car down a long open road. Nothing to obstruct you, except a pair of traffic lights now. Anyway, if you like Santana you'll adore their new album, Supernatural. It includes some brilliant tracks which include Smooth and Maria Maria. It won't leave your discman....
