The Backstreet Boys return with yet another album proving that they have the longevity and credibility to survive where other bands have failed.
Moving from a 5 piece to a 4 piece with the departure of Kevin Richardson seems to have had little effect on the work of one of the longest surviving boy-bands from the nineties era.

Advantages: Still sticking to the tried and tested Backstreet formula Disadvantages: Too many ballads for me..
Personally I think this album is brilliant, but this is no suprise seeing as I have loved the Backstreet Boys since i was about 12. Saying that, this album was going to have a big difference from all the others in the fact that it is the first album not to include Kevin Richardson. For all us big BSB fans out there, this was a very big deal. Still, the album has lived up to my expectations. The sound is still basically the same, yet some of the songs, ... ...edge that we havent really heard much of before, but i think is a welcome change. Dont worry though, the album is still chock-full of ballads, and i know as a fan for over 10 years, they have matured in sound once again. You can tell this time they are actually singing about their own life experinces and have had a lot more input into the songwriting than ever before. To be honest im not going to say it is my favourite album, because it isnt, not ...

Quick review of Unbreakable - Backstreet Boys
Keeping this short and sweet... I love BSB but they should have stopped at Never Gone. This alblum has some decent tracks but no stand-outs and little commercial appeal. ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Unbreakable - Backstreet Boys"
Advantages: Atmospheric, good vocal harmony (yay!), some tracks co-written by the guys, plenty of tracks Disadvantages: A bit cheesy, takes a few listens to really 'get into' it (but its great after that!)
- Introduction -
Unbreakable is the follow up album to 2005's Never Gone, which at the time was the first new studio album from the BackstreetBoys in over four years. This time, Unbreakable is notable for being the first studio album from the group as a now four piece group, since Kevin left in summer 2006.
Due to this, I was waiting to be quite critical of it but I was also interested to see (or more, hear) the differences present. Would it not work without Kevins vocals? is it obvious he's not in it? and after their last album had them going in a somewhat different musical direction, being alot more pop/rock then pop/R&B, would this have them continuing predominantly with the pop/rock sound or would it herald them returning to their original sound, with more emphasis on vocal harmony and R&B.
Well, as it happens, its a bit ...
Advantages: Matured style. Bonus tracks not available on standard album Disadvantages: Some very similar ballads
) the boys returned, minus singer Kevin Richardson who had left to be with his wife and new baby. The 4 remaining lads, or should that be men, Howie, Nick, Brian and AJ have brought us "Unbreakable" featuring the hit single "Inconsolable" the album is true to the BackstreetBoys although now a little more mature in it's musical style, gone are the cheesy pop beats of their early 90's releases and appropriately so considering we are now in 2008, a whole decade on from their first albums.
The album comes in 2 formats, a basic 14 track CD in the usual plastic case with inner sleeve, the other version is the deluxe edition which features 17 tracks. It comes in a fold out card case which contains a small fold out poster of the guys in one pocket, the inner booklet featuring pictures and details of the songs in another pocket and obviously the CD ...
Advantages: A strong, well put together album. Disadvantages: First without member Kevin Richardson.
Unbreakable is the Boys' seventh album and their first without Kevin Richardson, the eldest member of the group. I have been a long time fan of the BackstreetBoys, and their last album, Never Gone, was a bit of a disappointment, largely in part to the lack of harmonies. Now with Kevin no longer in the group, I approached this album with a hint of trepidation. I needn't of worried through as Unbreakable is the album Never Gone should have been. Beautiful harmonies, great melodies and a return to the big dance tracks.
Here's a track by track review:
01. Intro - Surprisingly this is the first fully acapella song to have featured on a BSB album. And it doesn't disappoint. It has a haunting sound, and is a preview for the track, (a song the boys co-wrote together) Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon.
02. Everything But Mine - This is ...

Album Notes
Additional personnel: John Shanks (guitar, keyboards); Mitch Allan (guitar, bass guitar); Dave Schuler, Billy Mann (guitar); Emanuel Kiriakou (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, keyboards, bass guitar, percussion, programming); Chuck Butler (electric guitar, bass guitar); Josh Muckala, Adam Lester (electric guitar); David Davidson (violin); Stevie Black (strings); David Hodges (piano, keyboards); Pete Wallace (piano); Dan Muckala (keyboards, programming); Jamie Muhoberac (keyboards); Paul Bushnell (bass guitar); Jeremy Lutito, Lee Levin, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dorian Crozier (drums); Neff-U, Zukhan Bey (programming); Dan Chase, Jeff Rothschild (drum programming). This follow-up to the Backstreet Boys' successful 2005 comeback marks their sixth studio effort, and probably the most varied presentation of material in their canon. The trademark harmonies are still in full, glorious effect (minus one voice, that of Kevin Richardson, who left the group to pursue an acting career), enriched by a more rocking sound and the presence of live instrumentation instead of programmed keyboards and beats. The first single, "Inconsolable," is a piano-laced weeper that already charted high before the release of the album.
