,000 people are affected by skin cancer each year in Britain, and at least 2% will die as a result. But it was not till the 80's that it was realised suncreams helped prevent damage to our skin and not till the 90's that it was proved by scientists.
However with all this knowledge now, How many of you are careful about making sure you never go out without protection. Children are most at risk from the sun as their bodies don't produce melanin which helps protect the skin from the UV rays. How many times have you let the kids go out and play without thinking of their skin? I know I have. And I am even worse with myself. But sometimes putting on suncream, especially on wriggly children who are just eager to play is such a bind so when Pampers brought out these Sunnies wipes I was delighted.

Advantages: easy to apply, no bottles that leak, quick and easy Disadvantages: your hands turn white, they are expensive and can tend to dry out
So, ok we haven't really seen the sunshine yet and our normal summer is over, but i write this just in case the weather forecasters somehow manage to predict correctly that we do get an Indian summer!!
My son is your average normal toddler won't keep still for more than five seconds at a time. I'm sure you can imagine the mess we get into if i decide to put suntan cream on him whilst we're down the beach... all the sand is such a distraction to the poor lad and protecting his skin doesn't seem to be at the top of his priorities. Surprise Surprise! So in come Sunnies to save the day, and my patience!
Ok so what are they I hear you ask. They are wipes, same size and texture of a baby wipe (think johnsons not huggies for them mums in the know), the main difference with sunnies is that they contain suntan lotion. Factor 30 suntan ...

Advantages: Easy to apply. Convenient Disadvantages: Expensive
Summer is upon us again and both my children arrived home from school with letters requesting that each child be supplied wtih suncream for use at break times.
Due to the latest health and safety rules, the teahers are not supposed to administer the sun cream to children themselves (although I'm sure they would if a child was struggling).
For my older child, who is 7, this wasn't a problem, I simply supplied hm with a small bottle of sun lotion and made him promise to apply it every break time.
However, I had visions of my younger child of 4 years struggling with a bottle of sun lotion and ending up with more of it on her clothes and hair than on her skin. So I set off to try and find a sun screen with a more convenient applicator.
