Advantages: Great sing along songs and melodies Disadvantages: limited vocal skills
Having really enjoyed listening to the King Blues newest album, "Save the World Get the Girl" i bought this album hoping for another great album and i wasn't disappointed. Also The King Blues should not be in the hardcore, punk, heavy metal section. They class themselves as reggae, punk, folk.
The intro is extracts from the news that clearly show the King Blues' anti war beliefs and it is accompanied by music underneath that ... ... Blood On My Hands is a shouty anti government and war song in a reggae style.
We Ain't Never Done is a brilliant acoustic song - my favourite of the album - which shows what the King Blues developed from before they wrote Save The World get The Girl. It is a superbly uplifting with some comical lyrics.

The intro is extracts from the news that clearly show the King Blues' anti war beliefs and it is accompanied by music underneath that leads into the first track, Blood On My Hands.
Mr Music Man is a very reggae style song with themes and sounds common in reggae as well as the leader singers Jamaican accent which I struggle to work out if it is genuine or not.
Come Fi Di Youth opens with a melodica playing the tune which the band and eventually a car alarm sound join. This is the most disappointing of all the songs as the chorus is quite weak because it is to shouty and the car alarm becomes quite annoying.
The Sound Of The Revolt again shows their ska and reggae influence with its laid back beat but the melody of the vocals is better in this song making it a good song.
If I Had A Coin... is an incredible song made only using vocals to sing the bass, harmony and melody parts. The tune is super and I was singing along to the tune almost straight away as it is very easy to pick up. The singer also gives a very optimistic message in the middle which adds to the song.
Chimp In A 3 Piece Suit is another great song. The accent of the singer is so strong that at times it is hard to understand what he is saying. This is another anti government song comparing governors to chimps in a 3 piece suit as the title suggests.
Duck And Cover is another acoustic guitar based song. The light humor of the lyrics which describing losing weapons of mass destruction and the melody make it a good song but the singers limited vocals slightly weaken this short song.
Taking Over had me whistling along in seconds! Again it is a politically based song but still very enjoyable.
Getting Out Of Here is an upbeat describing modern society. The melody is quite fun but the vocalist basically talks the lyrics rather than sing them.
The album artwork is not very inspiring and the lyrics booklet contains some interesting black and white images from London such as Camden Market which I imagine are important places or things about London to the King Blues but they may just be nice pictures without a meaning behind them.
Overall, I would say this is a great album if you already own Save The World Get The Girl but if not I would recommend that over this.
