Under The Greenwood Tree - Thomas Hardy

Advantages: Great characters and story
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

I have always been a fan of the classic period dramas like Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights and this screenplay of Under the Greenwood Tree is definitely up there with the best of them. Under the Greenwood Tree is an adaptation of the novel by Thomas Hardy and surrounds the arrival of the young pretty school teacher Fancy Day to the small village of Mellstock. Fancy's father who lives and works in Mellstock married the daughter of his wealthy employer and she was subsequently cut-off from her family and inheritance. The guilt of this has stayed with Fancy's father all his life and he has harboured big ambitions for Fancy to marry well and gain back what he sees as her rightful place in society. When Fancy arrives in Mellstock she attracts the attention of three eager suitors. There is Farmer Shinar the wealthy ...

Review of Under The Greenwood Tree (DVD)

Well Keep 'Em Under There

Advantages: A couple of decent tunes
Disadvantages: Inconsistent

Released in 2005 ?From Under The Cork Tree? came as the third album from the Emo, Pop Punk band Fall Out Boy. Consisting of the likes of Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump and Joe Troughman, they finally found mainstream success when the brought out with album and managed to get some of their singles out to the masses, and it even led to their lead singer and guitarist, Stump, being used on projects from acts which aren?t even directly linked to his genre of music with Lupe Fiasco, the Roots and Tyga all getting some kind of input from him on their albums around this time due to this breakthrough. 1. ?Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn?t Get Sued? They get the album going with a powerful display which seesm to led you in nicely and appears to really take you in with their material as they come with a nice little Pop ...

Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree

Advantages: Amazing pop punk, Highly Catchy, Great lyrics, Comical band
Disadvantages: Some may be critical of this CDs high production values

have 5 good tracks, with a load of average ones. This is definitely not the case and in 'From Under The Cork Tree' the band have produced a truly fine album worthy of being in anyone's CD collection. Seriously, whatever type of music you're predominantly into - I swear that you will find enjoyment in this Fall Out Boy album, it really it a fine piece of work. My favourites on this CD are probably 'Dance, Dance,' '7 Minutes In heaven,' 'Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner,' and the almighty 'Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying.' These are all great tracks and show off perfectly the fine skills that Fall Out Boy have to offer. There is never a dull moment on this album, but I just feel that these 4 tracks in particular really do convey the fun and enthusiasm that Fall Out Boy ooze seemingly with ease. The tracks have awesome vocals with great ...
