...The Velvet Underground's THE VELVET UNDERGROUND AND NICO album was released in 1967, the same year as the Beatles' SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND. Drug-relate folklore aside, it is the sixties true underground masterpiece.
'Sunday Morning' is a light and airy song that opens this marvel of an album. It's a melancholy musing contemplating things that have happened, things we haven't been introduced to yet, but, Lou Reed being Lou Reed, you can expect to know real soon with the greatest of detail. The vague lyrics suit perfectly the tone of the song and, at the same time, deliciously leaves out what we'll soon learn, 'early dawning, Sunday morning, it's all the streets you crossed not so long ago" being the only clue to the ensuing chaos.

...Nominally produced by Andy Warhol, The Velvet Underground and Nico is one of the most important and influential albums of all time. The only record the group recorded with Nico, the disc includes the seminal "Heroin," "I'm Waiting for the Man," and "Venus in Furs." As with the finest films and books, each song provides a window into a world that most will otherwise not have experienced. "Heroin" is probably the finest example of this, with the rush and subsequent down of the drug masterfully conveyed via Tucker's unorthodox drum style (simply involving padded beaters on a bass drum turned on its side), continuous changes in tempo, different musicians playing in different tempos at the same time, and Cale's shrieking viola-induced feedback at the end. ...Girls Aloud are a British girlband consisting of five members ; Nadine Coyle , Cheryl Cole , Sarah Harding , Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh. Girls Aloud were formed on the reality television show ; Popstars The Rivals in 2002. Since then they have become a huge success. To date they have had eighteen top ten singles , including three number ones. Their style of music consists of pop and electro pop.
Sound of The Underground was Girls Aloud's first ever single after winning Popstars : The Rivals alongside the winning boy band One True Voice (although the boys didn't get that far). Sound Of The Underground went straight into the charts at number one. It wasn't just any old number one though , it was THE Christmas number one of 2002.
