...I've now been on Ciao for two years now and in that time I've written a variety of reviews. One of my favourite items to write reviews on is music. I had the pleasure of writing the first and only review of Honeyroot's debut album, Sound, Echo, Location and I also have great pleasure in writing, yet again, the first review of the long awaited follow up album, The Sun Will Come. Honeyroot are an ambient dance collaborative born out of two well known 1980's bands. Glenn Gregory and Keith Lowndes were both former members of ABC and Glenn Gregory was also a member of Heaven 17. Both have teamed us as DJ's and musicians before the Honeyroot collaborative and have been signed as Honeyroot to the 'Just Music' label for a number of years now. Advantages: The songs are all equally as good as each other. Flows nicely. You'll want to hear it again and again.
Disadvantages: There isn't any.Sorry.I did try to think of some.

...I have been a fan of REM for a couple of years now, i first got into them from my dad, who has also liked them a considerable amount of years. For his birthday i decided as he didnt already have it, i would buy him the new album (around the sun). He was chuffed with the new CD and also recieved another copy of the album from a friend, so he decided to give one to me. Now it was my plan to eventially purchase the new album, when i got round to it, but that was no longer neccessary. I first listened to the album having already heard plenty of times the track: "Leaving New York", i had also heard a bit of "Wanderlast" & "Aftermath". So i played the album once and listened to each song, then played it a second time, then the third time i played it, each song came together and flowed perfectly. Advantages: mixture of tracks, great summery feel, good vibes

...Lit's 1999 album "a place in the sun" was their second to be commercially released following the fantastic "tripping the light fantastic" and although the style of music had changed quite dramatically between the 2 albums this was by no means a bad thing and the typical lit stylings remained present. A Place in the sun sounds like summer, theres no other way to put it, the warm happy sounding chords and melodic structure build up an image in your mind that you are sat in the middle of a field in the heat of summer, chilling on the ground listening to a band playing. From the very start however Lit mean business, this isnt a "light" album and does have some fairly meaty passages to the songs. The typical guitar stylings of Jeremy Popoff are present in every song and with his brother AJ's vocal tone bring about the unique Lit sound... Read review
