This is not about the University of Reading as a whole, just about the hall of residence that I am currently staying in, which is called Childs Hall.
I honestly can't remember which Halls I selected on the accommodation form, but I said that I wanted catered hall, and would quite like a sink, so this is where I was placed.
The first and most important thing I have to say about Childs is that it is HUGE. Not so much in building size, but in student numbers. There are around 500 students living here, which means it is a very daunting place, especially for a fresher like myself. The dining hall especially is daunting, it is a 400 seater place, so resembles something like an ornate aircraft hanger! Not exactly the cosiest of places..
The sheer volume of people here means that is a very noisy place, so if you come here don't expect to ...
Advantages: Adam Sandler, a fantastic actor Disadvantages: Not very much humour in it, a bit of a let down
INTRODUCTION
I watched this film for the first time after my boyfriend bought it me for my birthday. I love Adam Sandler as an actor, he's fantastic and one of my favourites.
I wanted to watch the file as it got such great reviews, but was unfortunately let down by it.
THE STORY
Adam Sandler plays Bobby Boucher, a 31 year old man who is quite slow. He acts like a child due to his condition and is a waterboy at a American football match.
He lives with his Mum, who is possessive over him and doesn't like him having his own life. She thinks everything is the devil and tells Bobby this to keep him away from things. For example ,she tells him that girls are the devil when he shows interest in someone.
He is badly bullied by the member's of the football team for being slow and they do awful things to him such as ...
Warning this film leaves a lasting impression on you, but for all the wrong reasons. Adam Sandler plays Bobby Boucher. a 31 year old simpleton water carrier. After being humiliated by some American football players, he channels all his pent up anger and flattens one of them. Thus begins his career as the best linebacker on the field. The problem with The Waterboy is that it is entirely predictable and is devoid of genuine humour. its simply not funny, especially Sandler who sounds like a strangulated Cartman from South Park. Dont make the mistake of watching this film. ...
