Borland, and this seven-track mini-album is very much a celebration of this reunion. And, at the very least, its better than its immediate predecessor Results Ma...

Advantages: There are a lot of fine moments here. Disadvantages: Not all of the album is particularly impressive.
This greatest hits collection from LimpBizkit was finally released in late 2005. With every band on earth seemingly having a greatest hits album available these days, it was only a matter of time before LimpBizkit would be issued with one. What I love most about this release is the refusal of the band to spell 'Hits' with its correct ending of an 's'. Through spelling it with a 'z', LimpBizkit are being highly original and Fred Durst continues in his quest to place a 'z' wherever an 's' should truly lie. The man is a genius.
You may be under the impression that the latter half of my last paragraph was ever so slightly riddled with sarcasm, and for thinking this you would most certainly be correct. Whilst purposely misspelling words is not cool, what I will say is that some of the tracks present on this album certainly are. Such ...
Advantages: Great music Disadvantages: Fair few swear words
. But did you hear how bad his song sounded when he was saying ?messed up? instead of ?f**ked up? and ?stuff? instead of ?sh*t?? The whole song just sounded like it had lost of its inner feeling. When people are angry they tend to swear, and ?Stan? is an angry song, that?s why the expletives seem so necessary. Same with LimpBizkit. If you replace the swear words with ?normal? words, the songs sound so differently bad. Admittedly, the word ?damn? could be used in many of the songs instead of the obvious swear words, but the anger is lost, and the whole ?umph? from the song seems to be lost. The songs are angry, and so angry words need to be used.
The music that LimpBizkit make is excellent. I have heard a large part of their most recent album ?Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavoured Water? but not ?Significant Other? or "Three Dollar ...
Advantages: Huge riffs... Disadvantages: Can become a bit boring after a while
Significant Other is the second of three LimpBizkit albums, and sounds
very different to the other two. The one before, Three dollar bill y'all, has a much more raw sound, with Chocolate Starfish... sounding far more produced and generally more commercial. Significant Other lies somewhere safely between these two.
As for the album itself, it's LimpBizkit's usual mix of metal mixed with a bit of rap and hip-hop at occasional intervals, with a fair bit of sampling used, particularly at the beginning and the end.
Songs that stand out for me on the album inlcude 'Nookie', with it's huge riffs, it's contrasting styles throughout - fast and loud then slow and sweet, and it's general cathyness; 'intro' and 'outro', although both being brief and both sounding almost identical, they stick out just for their difference; 'n 2 gether now ...
