I have long awaited this album as I was immediately taken with 'These Words' and 'Single'. At only 22-years-old Natasha Bedingfield has a unique passion for writing and singing. Her debut album Unwritten draws on a range of experiences and passions personal to her – from battling through the dating game ("Frogs And Princes"), and dealing with the trust issues of falling in love ("I Bruise Easily") to learning how to carpe diem ("If You’re Gonna Jump") and develop the confidence to take life and own it ("Unwritten").
Told from the viewpoint of a young woman with her head firmly screwed on, Unwritten is fuelled by lyrical sass and real-life suss throughout. Musically the album is inspired by a wide range of influences and styles. The result is an album packed with winning songs and no irrelevant fillers.
I think this album is an inspiration to young women out there who think they cant make it on their own or who still feel it is a mans world. Natasha's strong and independent character shines through via the lyrics but it also shows that no-one is exempt from lifes heartaches and struggles to making it.

Musical style -
Mostly a feisty R &B such as 'Single' and 'Drop me in the Middle' however a few more electro-rock attempts are made such as 'Im a Bomb' (slightly Pink Style). The album has a great mixture of style as Natasha also plays a few slower tracks 'Unwritten' and 'We're all Mad'. '
Wild Horses' starts well - a delicate piano ballad, The absolute highlight on this album for me is 'I Bruise Easily' (surely the next single) - an absolutely beautiful song - great lyrics. The subtle orchestral arrangement fits perfectly, and the songs frail restraint saves the song from becoming an overblown cliched ballad.
Hope you like it as much as I do.( Asda price £9.99, available through Amazon.com for £8.99 although you will pay postage and packaging).

I normally agree with jillmurphy LOL but I can't give a VH as from your review I have NO idea of what kind of music she plays. Is it manufactured-poppy? Country influenced? Dance'y? Folksy? Punky? Or what? If you add one sentence on that I would re-rate.
