...all mouthing the words of her songs, as though they knew them better than Shania herself.! I wanted this to be an up close and personal video, with Shania just singing her songs for me and my enjoyment!!!!??? So these serious negatives reduce my score for this Shania DVD - I can only possibly rate it at 99.999 % and that is an objective review of course.... Read review

Advantages: The most powerful Batman score ever composed; an Elfman classic all the way
Disadvantages: So what if it isn't the most sophisticated score in the world?

...proportions to create the dramatic, comic book-like over-the-top feel of Gotham City and it's dark hero. While still lacking the kind of experience inherent with older composers, Elfman more than compensates this with keeping the energy level high at all times and offering towering thematic presentations of his themes at key points. Almost completely shrouded in darkness, Batman is Elfman's call to fame in a grand and noticeable way that did not go unnoticed and Elfman soon had a number of loyal fans behind him. The score is dominated by the main theme, which is an amazingly simple, five-note motif. According to Elfman he originally came up with the theme on an airplane and had to go into the bathroom to hum it into a taperecorder.
