Urban hymns was the verves final album before they split up. It is the album which knocked Oasis' 'Be here now' off the top of the charts and they held the place for the next five weeks. The verve were one of the countries best bands and this album shows that. Everything about it says classic, the singles taken from the album, the massive hit it became, the vocals of Richard Ashcroft which seem be as if they were meant for these songs, well he did write them. You must buy this, if you need anymore convincing just look at the singles which came from it 'bitter sweet symphony' 'The drugs don’t work' 'Lucky Man' and 'sonnet'.
