In my opinion this box set is a must see for any little girl and her mother as it truly is a very delightful story. It is based on the books by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
It is about an orphan, Anne who goes to live in Green Gables, Avonlea, on Prince Edward island with an old lady and her brother. Anne is played terrificly well by the Canadian actress Megan Follows and has the well renound actress Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla Cutherbert. The films basically follow Anne as she grows up and all the trials and tribulations of being an orphan, having to act politely in grown up situations and the fact that she does not like her red hair!
As the story progresses and it moves on in time it also follows the love story between her and Gilbert Blythe.
It is set in a truly wonderful time, of innocence and will really make you teary eyed in places ...
