Advantages: Excellent Movie Sountrack. Disadvantages: None!
memories of this movie and of the time it was released in the charts to me and I just love recalling it all. This track was released in 1985 and reached number 15 in the billboard charts. The music video to accompany this love song was taken from clips of the St Elmo's Fire movie also. This is an excellent track, that?s an all time favourite to me.
Overall Opinion Of St Elmo's Fire Soundtrack.
Well as you have probably gathered from reading this review, I really love this soundtrack a lot. I have had this original one for over twenty years. I first had it on cassette and then upgraded it to CD. It really looks a bit tatty on it, but that?s because it has been played a lot by me over the years, as I love it so much. This CD was one of the first movie soundtracks that really caught my attention because of the great meanings all the songs ...
Advantages: beautiful music to a great film, very touching, cheap Disadvantages: carelessly made booklet, weird extra track
of gold and red as
you can see in the picture. The writing "Alexander - Original Motion Picture
Soundtrack by Vangelis" looks like gold, with the words "Alexander" and "Vangelis"
being bigger than the rest.
The back of the CD has the tracklist on it, next to a picture of Alexander in battle on
his horse.
The booklet is basicly a long piece of paper folded four times. On the first page there
is a photgraph of Vangelis with the information that all the music has been composed,
arranged, produced and performed by him. In the lower corner of this pages we
get some more information on people who contributed to the songs because
some other instruments played by other musicians are featured in a few tracks.
There is also information on the recording staff and studio,
On the next two pages the tracks are listed again and there is more information ...
Advantages: Some good love songs Disadvantages: Poor rap tracks
I Have seen the majority of this film and was one of Jada Pinketts lesser known releases. Its not too bad but again i gambled by buying the soundtrack without hearing any of the tracks but felt that i could find a couple of gems. a couple i did find but overall below average
Tracks
Woo Woo (Freak Out) - MC Lyte & Nicci Gilbert. Its basically Le freak by chic but a touch slower and with a rap in it. Thats the best way i can describe it
Money - Charli Baltimore. The first single Charli Baltimore released and the production was top drawer on this which kind of overshadowed her rap performance. Samples For The Love of Money by the OJays and the big bassline makes this track a classic club anthem
Bouncin - Lost Boyz. Straight forward beats and rhymes make this an all round average song. poor chorus
Nobody does It better ...

Album Notes
Original score composed by Don Davis. Chalk up the soundtrack to this teen slasher movie as being more for people who view Valentine's Day as a time of bitter regret and rejection versus one of flowers and amour. This aggro-rock collection of songs includes contributions by artists who thrive on the dark side, including Marilyn Manson (the dirge-like "Valentines Day") and Rob Zombie (a Hi-NRG remix of "Superbeast"). Other artists willing to keep the dark fires burning are Disturbed (the grindcore exercise "God of the Mind"), Deftones (an ominously rumbling "RX Queen"), and Orgy (the relentlessly driving "Opticon"). Even artists whose talents run more towards weaving beats versus guitar solos also keep the dark mood going, particularly on cuts by BT (the clanging remix of "Smartbomb") and Amanda Ghost (the thumping dance track "Filthy Mind"). Even former alt-rock darlings Filter get into the act by creating an ambient remix of their Beatles-esque hit "Take a Picture." VALENTINE is the perfect soundtrack to harvesting sour grapes and cursing out Cupid.
