Advantages: Very unusual smell; long-lasting; mysterious Disadvantages: Quite expensive; possibly a bit heavy for daytime wear
I have been using Mitsouko for many years and it is still my favourite perfume. Spraying on Mitsouko immediately makes me feel mysterious, glamorous and sexy. It brings to mind visits to the Far East with all its colours, smells and intrigue. It is quite a heavy perfume, I think, but it's not suffocating like some perfumes with an oriental base. Once on, it lasts for a long time. It is instantly recognisable - even some men recognise it, without having to be told what it is! I also like the bottle - it is classically elegant and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a "collectable" in its own right in a few years' time. The one slight disadvantage about Mitsouko is that, like all Guerlain products, it is quite expensive but in my opinion it is well worth spending the money to get such a beautiful, unique perfume. ...
Advantages: A heartwarming tale Disadvantages: There really isn't any
I first saw Educating Rita about 3 years ago when it came as a free disc within the Daily Mirror. As it was a free disc I didn't hold out much hope for it but when I placed it into the DVD player my mum exclaimed that she'd seen it before and that it wasn't half bad. You would be wrong however to believe this as in my opinion Educating Rita is as appropriate today as it was when it was first released. The story it tells is extremely true to life and is not only told in a touching way but also in a way that pulls the audience along ...
Advantages: Beautiful, sophisticated fragrance that lingers Disadvantages: None
Mitsouko
Yes, MY perfect perfume. I was given a bottle of the Eau de Toilette when I was 21. Previously, I had always been disappointed by perfumes I had been given. Most things just did not appeal, and those that did changed on my skin within an hour or so to something that I simply could not stand!
From the moment that I opened the bottle of Mitsouko, I knew that this was the perfume I had always been searching for, and I have had this perfume ever since. I also own Shalimar, but find that I wear this almost never, whilst I wear Mitsouko every day, as I identify with it so strongly. It is difficult to describe this perfume, as it just feels "right" to me. When you open the bottle, the immediate impression is of a dry and powdery, sweet-ish smell. Within a few moments this changes (on the skin) to a softer fragrance ...
