Classical voices to relax and uplift

Disadvantages: Odd mixture of music on the Uplifting disc

I will say from the start that I am certainly no expert on classical music. I do often have Classic FM on the radio at home and recently bought their 2 CD set, Voices 2008. This is a compilation containing a selection of vocal pieces from the worlds of choral music and opera. There are pieces in this collection which you would immediately recognise on hearing them, even if their names are not familiar. In the set is a CD of relaxing pieces and a CD of uplifting pieces, so you have the choice of which best suits your mood. Welsh Male Voice Choirs.

Advantages: Sublime
Disadvantages: None

When I say that my grandmother's maiden name was Davies, and that she was the last person in the family who had any understanding of the Welsh language, you will probably understand why I love Welsh choral music so much. Well, apart from the fact that Wales is truly the land of song, with the best history of choral music in the entire world., that is! This CD (produced by EMI and Music for Pleasure) has a wide range of Welsh Male voice Choirs from all over Wales. The competition between the different choirs and indeed the different parts of Wales are fiercely competitive. But the strong, intense rivalry is always friendly. Well, MOST of the time, that is!
