comedy--disguises, misunderstandings--upon which lyric feeling and deep tragedy break in. The triumph of Claudio Abbado's vision of the score is that the feeling and tragedy are all the more affecting because he brings out the charm of episodes like Riccardo's visit to the fortune-teller Ulrica, disguised as a sailor; Domingo is splendid in the slightly parodic aria of dangers at sea, moving elsewhere as a man torn between public and personal duty and his heart. The vocal tension which sometimes damages Katia Ricciarelli's performances here works in her portayal of a woman on the verge of collapse--the gallows-side love duet between her and Domingo has an almost Wagnerian intensity. Bruson is solid as the husband and best friend who believes himself betrayed; Raimondi and Foiani appropriately sinister as the manipulative heavies who stir the plot and introduce a sinister undertone from the first scene onwards; Gruberová a delight in the britches part of the squire Oscar; Obratzova admirably over the top in Ulrica's prophesies of doom. --Roz Kaveney

This version of Verdi's Requiem sounds absolutely terrific. The chorus has lots of presence -so important in the famous Dies Irae and the soloists are miked beautifully. The 'Hostias' and 'Ingemisco' are some of the finest recordings of Luciano Pavarotti available. Arguably he had more character by the time of his later recording from the late 80s with Riccardo Muti but he is caught here at his finest vocally with the hushed ingemisco amongst the best of that much recorded aria. Joan Sutherland's performance has been criticised quite a lot by critics that think she should not have recorded Verdi roles (similar complaints surround her Traviatas, her Leonora in Il Trovatore and her Elvira in Ernani). I really like her in this music. She is certainly preferable in my opiion to Schwarzkopf (Giulini/EMI and De Sabata (Naxos)) or Nelli ...
Advantages: Catchy, covers upbeat to emotional, and very good single release Alone. Disadvantages: Doesn't cover any new ground or set itself apart
-of-the-ground grey area of the forgettably average. I was really ready to whole-heartedly enjoy this album, but I just didn't. There were times when I almost did. It definately stuck in my head - and it had a good beat. But that wasn't going to be enough for me. I don?t think Dan should call his album ?Un? unless he's planning on making genre-warping, perspective-altering musical strides. I hate to be mean because he seems like a stand up guy. Top marks for effort, but frankly - Uninspiring. ...

and would look too orange on my skin so I went for the palest shade that wasn't sold out which has honey glow. The product is part of a range which includes eye shadows, blushers and bronzers. All of which are in the same style containers and have the same advertised as being made from 95% minerals and having no perfume or preservatives
The product comes in a small plastic pot which contains the powder with a brush sticking upwards on top of the pot and a clear plastic lid. It looks very attractive in terms of the packaging and claims to have no perfume, no preservatives, has a SPF (sun protection factor) of 15 and is made from 95% minerals. (hence the name!)
After picking up the foundation I caught a glimpse of the price - a whopping £13.99!! The pot is not all that big and I think to be worth that price it would have to be pretty ...
