Advantages: Kids MIGHT like it Disadvantages: Unfunny , cheesy , Poor Acting , Waste Of Money
and was not funny at all. When I found out Justin was in the film , I assumed it would be good , for such a huge star to appear in it , however I was completely wrong.
To be brutally honest I think this is the stupidest film I have ever seen. Although the plot was simple ; the guru was trying to get the husband and wife back together ; the film was made confusing as it kept going on and on , and focusing on other points , and therefore made it difficult viewing , especially for younger children.
I think this film was a 'any-reason-for-a-film- if you get what I mean.
I was bored throughout this movie and couldn't wait for it to end! I think , if I hadn't paid £7 for my ticket , then I would have got up and left early! I kept thinking 'this is really bad?but maybe it will get better' but it just didn't.

Advantages: Er....er......um......er.......nope Disadvantages: The film
Well, this was my second disappointment of the day, I'm afraid. The other day, I watched Eastern Promises, and loved it. Then came The Day The Earth Stood Still, and I thought it was pants. So, after some violent crime drama and a bit of crappy sci-fi, I thought i'd try some light-hearted comedy.
However, this is nothing more than a poor man's attempt at some of the frat pack films, such as Pineapple Express, Superbad, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, etc. It doesn't even have the adult lewd humour that makes those films appeal to beer swilling, belching men. A Mike Myers film, The Love Guru takes the humour from Austin Powers and attempts to make a funny romcom with a bit of stupidity. It fails. It doesn't have charm and pinache of AP, nor does it have the screwy comedy that made it original.
In fact, the plot is even a bit rubbish ...
Advantages: Quite a unique storyline, good acting Disadvantages: Might seem a bit "preachy"
will come down within a few months or you could try renting it from your usual DVD rental source. Oh and I also spotted it on ebay from around £4 including postage.

OVERALL
Overall I?d give Guru a strong 8.5 out of 10. I think there were a couple of misplaced songs at the start of the film which made the start of the film a bit too slow for me, but apart from that I enjoyed the story, the acting was superb from all leads and supporting cast members and the direction was outstanding.
Some of the taglines for the film included: ?The life of the most controversial man of the year?, ?Villager. Visionary. Winner? and ?Think big, think ahead and think fast.? They were all totally apt tags for the film as far as I?m concerned! Watch it ...
