Thank You For The Days
Review of Galore by  Merv

Advantages: Great pop songs, meaningful lyrics, wonderful voice
Disadvantages: Sadly no more

...Boys.” Morrissey also praised her songs and Bono of U2 once described her as "Red hair, sharp tongue - she should be Irish”, and went on to say that she was one of a line of great English songwriters that included Ray Davies, Paul Weller and Morrissey. He described her as ‘The Noelle Coward of her generation’. In 1995 the album Galore was released and drew upon her entire career up to that time. In my opinion this is the Kirsty MacColl album to buy if you've never bought one before. Her songs are about real people's lives and show that there is a place for great pop music amongst all the musical genres. All the tracks on the album are good, it’s a real classic, so I’ve identified a few of my favourites to show what a wonderful singer song-writer Kirsty was. They Don’t Know About Us... Read review

Galore- a wonderful collection!
Review of Galore by  paul_cassidy2004

Advantages: Great songs, good back up music, fantastic voice
Disadvantages: No more music to come.

...I didn't know much about Kirsty MacColl when i heard the news that she had died. It was all over the news when she died on the 18th December 2000. She died just of the coast of Cozumel(a paradise island off of Mexico,) whilst scuba diving. She was with her two teenage sons when she was swimming back to the boat when a large speedboat came flying towards her. She screamed and pushed her two sons aside but she was hit and killed instantly. Absolutely tragic as she was only 41 and had just kick-started her career again with a new album. She is sadly missed by many many fans. About two years later i was watching the Magic Channel when on came 'A New England.' I absolutely the song and the video was very funny too! So i went straight out to MVC and bought Galore as it had that track on it. I paid £8.99 for it which wasn't bad at all. I... Read review

R U Still Down?
Review of R U Still Down (Remember Me) [PA] - 2Pac by  limpzy

Advantages: Collection of two hit singles, multi-platinum album & contained unreleased material.
Disadvantages: Nothing different compared to his old albums. First album to be finished without the creative input of Tupac himself.

...Tupac Shakur is one of the best artists of hip-hop of all time, he created some of the most influential music ever with his music still living on today. 'R U Still Down?' was released in 1997 and is very similar to his usual material except for the fact that this was the second album to be released after his death. This was the first record sold for his mother's new imprint Amaru Entertainment which was suing Death Row records at the time. The album had created two hit singles "Do for Love" and "I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto". The album itself has a good range of tracks that I find original to the Tupac phenomenon. The fact that he raps about his struggles, loyalty & determination is what I find so appealing about him. There is a mix of fiery, fast-paced songs to more calm, cohesive music which is very compelling. Tracks... Read review
