Most people are surprised when they hear about my musical tastes. Most see me as someone purely into heavy metal, my friends as heavy metal and clasic rock, but even my very close friends don't seem to understand how far my taste goes. I have always loved every type of metal and some rap and dance but it is only recently when i discovered the wonders of 70's Soul and funk. The first time i heard Al Green was on Pulp Fiction with the song "Let's stay together". I loved the song from the first time i heard it but never looked into it until i bought the movie soundtrack, since then i have been searching Al Green in youtube and discovering all sorts of other great music. I have always been into laid back songs and have often skipped through albums to find that one slow love song. With this collection you get some of the best of Al green there is to find. There are the obvious choices of "Let's stay together" and "Tired of being alone" but there are others that not everyone may know such as "Simply Beautiful". It;s the addition of these other songs that make this such a worthwhile purchase. You bcan hear th music so well and the CD has an overall warm sound that can only be understood when heard. There are few better CD's to be listened to with your other half and i think that fans of most musical genres would become an instant fan of the man, in the same way that David Bowie can be enjoyed by all. There isn't any track skipping to make this a good listen, it is pretty consistent the whole way through, except there's obviously favourites. The songs all sound heartfelt and from experience which makes all the difference. This CD is also available very cheaply so there is no reason not to purchase it. It's a very soft CD and is perfect to lie back and listen to if you want to relax. To conlude, it's a great collection and i would reccomend it to all.
