And I don?t mind taking sides for and in behalf of DianaKrall, that sultry-voiced singer and pianist who caught the jazz music arena by storms. But then there are negative reviews. And I can?t help it. The spectrum of reviews and critics from all walks of life is very wide ..There are critics/reviewers who think this album released in 2006 by the Verve Music Group, has pulled her banners down since her momentously great performance in ?Live In Paris?. There is no point comparing her to Ella Fitzgerald or Sarah Vaughn who are equally hall-of -famers in the jazz world but whose style completely differs from that of DianaKrall. . She immediatley turned to the genius combination behind Chic, Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers - the hottest R&B producers of the day. It was decided to mould the traditional Diana Ross sound into mainstream Funk/R&B/Disco. Diana Ross was certainly no stranger to great, jamming dance music, having hit No.1 on the Pop and R&B Charts in 1976 with the exciting Love Hangover (which became one of the most innovative R&B/Disco classics of the decade) and enjoying Top 20 success with the magnificent The Boss in 1979. It seemed a logical step and indeed proved a very fruitful collaboration even though the diana album did not go by without its fair share of problems!

S’Wonderful and I Remember You are both light bossa nova tunes, with lovely accompaniment of flute and jazz guitar. Diana’s voice sounds deep, clear and sexy as always. Most other renditions of Gershwin’s ‘S’wonderful’ are very up beat and fast, but this version is laid back and relaxed.
Love Letters, Cry Me A River, The Night We Called It a Day and Maybe You’ll be There are all beautiful love songs. DianaKrall’s vocals really do suit ballads, she always sounds so relaxed and as if she doesn’t have to try. She has real warmth and feeling in these songs.
