Very Best Of Eddie Floyd, The - Eddie Floyd

Advantages: A few good songs, very good in fact
Disadvantages: More boring songs than good ones

...I thought that Pink Floyd would disband when Roger Waters left as he was such a significant part of this popular beat combo ;-) They stuck together though and this, in my opinion, shows some of the old Pink Floyd spirit even though he isn't among them any more. Incedentally I think Waters was wrong to claim he IS pink floyd and that the band couldn't use that name, because Dave Gilmour for one put so much into the pool of talent that was the Pink Floyd I liked so much. Anyway, this album has some good songs on it - such as "What do you want from me" which has very impressive vocals and music as does "A great day for freedom" and "Coming back to life". I was well impressed with the artwork and sleeve notes, better than the music. The rest of the album seems pretty bland though, not the hard hitting, reality biting Pink Floyd... Read review

Advantages: Nice collection of songs if you're new to Pink Floyd
Disadvantages: Not for people who has the essencial Floyd albums in their collection

...If you've never heard about Pink Floyd which I almost can't believe, this is a nice collection to start with. Real Floyd freaks won't buy this stuff however there are some rarities on this album. It's a shame that the title track "Echoes" is a short version of the original song found on the album "Meddle". Also consider that some songs are picked out from concept albums and from my point of view, these songs are not so strong as a stand alone song. Certainly songs from the Album "Dark side of the moon" are songs that you only can enjoy if you listen to the entire album. Also, the songs are mixed up and are not chrononical. Again, very recommended for music lovers who haven't any album of Pink Floyd... Read review

...Echoes is an album that was reliesed by pink floyd which consists of a compilation of Pink Floyds best musical masterpieces known to man, such as Another Brick in the wall, the 23 minute experience known to you as Echoes, The Great Gig in the Sky, Set the Controls Fot the heart of the sun and money and thats just on the first disc !!! as you can tell from this line up it is going to be yet another great guitar soloing CD from Pink Floyd. The album cover/booklet consists of all of the songs lyrics and some interesting artwork to match. This is and probably will be the last pink floyd album reliesed so dont be caught 20 years from now when your children ask to hear what pink floyd sound like, dont dissapoint them buy this album now....
