Advantages: Flawless vocals, good production, professional music Disadvantages: Lacking passion, edge and individuality
...my telephone to vote for Mills every week without fail. Unfortunately, having just sat and listened to his debut album "Picture of You" I rather wish I'd saved myself the bother and done something constructive with my Saturday evenings instead.
Those of you who watched the X Factor may well recall just how powerful Ben's vocal performances were. He reached those tricky notes, belted them out with an awesome power and held onto them for dear life. But you won't find many such performances on this dreary album I'm sorry to report. ...Uriah Heep is one of the best hard rock group in the world.Uriah Heep first album "Very 'Eavy Very 'Umble" released on the Vertigo label on June 19,and later released in USA in 1971 as "Uriah Heep"."If the group make it ,I'll have to commit suicide" wrote rock critic Melissa Mills in Rolin Stone magazin. She may or may not be with us any more ,but 30 years on Uriah Heep still do it.Now we can see that all this critics was not right."Very 'Eavy..." is good rock album with some beautiful songs.Ken Hensley said:"Also Thought it is not musicaly or sonically the best album we did ,it was always be special to me".This album had everything on it,progressive "Gypsy" that became an Uriah Heep anthem ."I'll keep on trying" with the "Gypsy" type organ heavy arrangement and well done Mick Box guitar.Beautiful, tunefull "Come away Mellinda...
