Downtown, by Petula Clark is really the song to play if your feeling down and lonely, it really does make you feel better. In chart records, it got to #1in the USA Hot 100 number-one hits, and kept that record for 2 weeks from January 23rd until February 6th 1965, being knocked off by The Righteous Brothers with You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin. In the UK chart it got to #2, and was sang in French and in France got to #6. The song was finished 30 minutes before its first recording by a guy called Hatch in the studios mens room. Advantages: Shoes

About every 6-9 months, we need to buy new shoes, and what better place to do just that then Clarks, one of the UK's top shoe shops. THE WINDOWS I've seen many Clarks stores are very basic when it comes to windows, this Clarks had a few shoes on display, nothing else. Not drawing me in. SHOPABILITY There's a range of shoes in Clarks, adult shoes, trainers, school shoes and shoes for babies and toddlers. You could clearly see all the shoes being displayed, but I found everything tightly packed and there were very few different types of shoes in each selection. (e.g. one or two "Bootleg" and one or two "YoToy" under trainers) WAS I BEING SERVED? There were two people in the shop who could serve you, and they were helpful, there was one who was on the till, and one helping people try on their shoes, and also working ...

Jim Clark 1936-1968

Advantages: Greatest driver in the 1960s, a proper gentleman
Disadvantages: No longer with us

at Winfield & Chaterhall. In 1958 he successfully raced a D-Type Jaguar at the Spa Grand Prix & by the following year he made his debut at Le Mans with co-driver Sir John Whitmore & finished second in their class. After his first single seater racing car event on Boxing Day 1959 at Brands Hatch he was spotted by Reg Parnell who invited him to join his Aston Martin racing team. The project never materialised so Clark joined Colin Chapman's Lotus racing team instead in 1960 & remained loyal to him for the rest of his career. It soon became clear that Jim Clark was a very talented driver, in 1962 he was their number one driver & one year later he became world champion for driver & manufacturer. He repeated that again in 1965 & also became the first British driver to win the Indianapolis 500 race in the USA. At home he was awarded an OBE. Jim ...
