Advantages: More diverse, lyrically brilliant. Disadvantages: None
Vheissu is Thrice's fourth studio cd and shows how much the band has changed from the first to this one. This cd has a totally different sound for Thrice, and shows the band has matured since The Artist in the Ambulance. Before this cd they were often lumbered with the emo tag next to their name, but this cd just blows away any bands that could be classed as emo. Thrice fans that enjoyed the heavy side of Thrice may not like this cd, but I feel this ... ...were sceptical about Thrice's less progressive side before this cd. Musically the cd has a lot more instruments than there would have been on any previous cd, with keyboards, violins and many other instruments. Lyrically the band have stepped it up a notch as well

I genuinely think ...

...a devoted fan soon would be. Thrice are set to release their fourth album 'Vheissu' in October and I'm sure it will be even more solid than the previous two, and will be certain not to disappoint.
The Illusion Of Safety:
The album itself is very short, with few songs reaching the three minute mark. However, it certainly does not leave you feeling cheated out of your money - quite the opposite. You will look at the display on your CD player and think 'Woah, was that only 38 minutes?' This is because Thrice manage to fit so much into such a short space of time. They do what many bands take a career and several albums to do.
The songs, except for the odd one (Trust, notably), are also very fast-paced and are real foot-tappers. They don't let up for a second, and this is one of the things that makes the songs on the album so very catchy...
