Advantages: just a lovely tradition Disadvantages: assemble before needed - time consuming
Is it just me or does Christmas come around more quickly every year? There are some traditions that I enjoy less than others at the Christmas season, but I do like a good Advent Calendar, and this one is the best I have ever found.
What is it?
This is a branded Playmobil item that consists of a hanging advent calendar (not pictured here), with little boxes from 1-24 which contain bits of playmobil, building up to a Christmas in the Park scene, as in the product picture. In our family a box is opened every morning after breakfast on a rota basis and is a greatly anticipated morning ritual.
The whole thing comes in a box and the calendar and little boxes have to be assembled by an adult. This does take about an hour I find, though perhaps I get a bit slowed down by sipping a "traditional" mulled wine which I feel is ...
Advantages: Easy to use, good screen size, reliable Disadvantages: Poor battery life, becomes very hot when charging
When my trusty old desktop PC decided to die on me earlier this year, it was a bit of a mixed blessing. I'd been toying with the idea of treating myself to a laptop and becoming more mobile with my internet hobbies but I was reluctant to shell out a lot of money when I had a perfectly good PC at home. When my PC was not quite so 'perfect' I had the ideal excuse to go laptop shopping but I still didn't want to pay out a lot of money, if I could help it.
Deciding on the purchase
Prior to buying this (in April 2009) we went to PC World to look at the options within our price bracket. I wanted to spend around £400, including software. I had also decided that I wanted a larger 17" widescreen, having been used to a much larger TFT monitor on my desktop. I didn't want to be squinting at a tiny little screen, thanks! Advantages: Great sound quality, perfet at loud volumes, just in general FANTASTIC Disadvantages: none so far
Anything made by BOSE can be trusted. Its sound quality is always at its best, no matter what soundsystem you use from bose, and it's true... you get what you pay for.
Jus plug it in and press "ON" and you're set up! IT'S THAT EASY!
bose is a big brang name, and everyone expects the best from, and how right they are.
The sounddocks simplistic design brings out the best of your mp3 player, making it the whole music experience that much better.
For (at most) £300, you are getting exactly what you pay for AND more! The bose soundock has an inate wonder within itself, which brings you to appreciate the minor details embedded into whatever track you are listening to.
Its reasonably light weight, comes with an easy to use remote and from there onwards, it really is just you and your music
