When Air first saw the film 'The Virgin Suicides', they loved it - apart from the soundtrack. So they set out to create one of their own - and this is the result. Their work is now used throughout the film, although occasionally in different places from where the band originally intended! It probably helps to have seen the film - especially to understand the final track, whose lyrics are the abstracted resume that comes at the end of the film - but this album of variations on a theme still works wonderfully well. Thirteen tracks long and with at least some of the same elements in every track, most tracks still sound different, although the odd one just sounds like filler. However, another fine offering from the band, who seem to go from strength to strength.
