...Death does negate Elvis's contribution to music, everyone's got to go sometime but their music lives on. This supercedes the previous greatest hits compilations and actually manages to get in 50 mostly brilliant tracks. Its a great buy as an introduction to Elvis and very reasonably priced. It has lots of stand out tracks that you should know such as Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes and Jail House Rock. Many of these have been covered by other artists (ie Suspicious Minds by Fine Young Cannibals, Viva Las Vega by ZZ Top) proving the influence Presley had on latter day artists. Buy it... Read review

...Im a sixteen year old who is into all kinds of music. When I say this, I mean that it ranges from Elvis to Eminem, from Greenday to Otis Redding. I had been looking for a good Elvis CD to buy so that I can listen to some real music which came straight from the heart. This CD of Elvis' 50 greatest songs was a brilliant introduction to elvis. It has made me realise that these songs are only a few of the many good songs that Elvis made. The two CD set features some of the most popular songs that were released, including Blue Suade Shoes, Jail House Rock, Love me Tender, Heartbreak Hotel, Hound dog, Loving You, It's Now Or Never, Are You Lonesome Tonight?, Viva Las Vegas, Suspicion, Always on my mind and many more. The movie captures Elvis's personality as he chats with his band members and messes up the words as he rehearses. The rehearsals begin at the MGM studios in Las Vegas and the performances are staged at the International hotel in Las Vegas. These performances show Elvis looking at his very best and they herald the start of the infamous white jumpsuits.
