Vulnerable, Tricky's seventh long player, is being touted as a "return to form". This is ... more
presumably because of the decidedly lukewarm responses that greeted recent LPs likeBlowbackandAngels With Dirty Faces. The main problem of course is that everyone expects England's most blunted auteur to come up with something as mind-blowingly zeitgeist-capturing as his debutMaxinquaye. Face it kids: it ain't gonna happen. The album lists from side to side in that inimitably Tricky-esque way, zig-zagging through dark, surrealist dreamscapes and catchy pop hooks and offering plenty of trademark unhinged beats and hard-core thrash-outs (yes, he still has a thing for nu-metal) along the way. His distinctive verbal entropy is all over the album--perhaps too much--but is balanced by the equally omni-present chanteuse Costanza. Aside from Tricky's own varied pieces, there are two covers: an excellently sexual reworking of The Cure's "Love Cats" and a less inspiring version of XTC's "Dear God". Not exactly a "return to form", or anything close toMaxinquaye, but still a solid and inventive album that stands up on its own merits. --Paul Sullivan

Advantages: Lots of gameplay as you try to master the game with each of 12 characters Disadvantages: You might get sick of doing the same thing over and over 12 times
dubbed this game SSX 1 and a half, because of its similarity to the first one, but as the latest SSX game is called SSX3, I?m guessing the developers of the game see this as a sequel.
WHY IS IT CALLED ?TRICKY? THEN?
I guess it is to draw attention to the fact that the ?pulling tricks? aspect of the game has been beefed up. It?s probably also because eventually you can?t even think about the game without hearing ?It?s Tricky? by Run DMC which plays every time your character goes ?Uber? (which we?ll discuss more later)
SO WHAT?S DIFFERENT IN THIS GAME?
There are two new tracks, and 6 (or 7) new characters. The game modes are the same (race or show-off), but now instead of the two different modes having a different final challenge, both modes climax with Alaska. There has also been the introduction of ?Trick Books?, which we ...
Advantages: Smooth game, great graphics and very playable Disadvantages: Its tricky
The Bloodhound Gang said it best when they sang, ?Its tricky, tricky, trickytrickytricky.? SSX tricky is one hell of a memorable sports game, oh and did I mention ? its tricky?
SSX Tricky is a game developed by 'EA Sports BIG' - the division of EA Sports that releases the extreme sports games and this game certainly fits into that category. SSX Tricky is a snowboarding based game that can be played in 1 or 2 player mode. There are three basic game options that can be played - Time Challenge, Single Event or World Circuit, each with its own charms.
Single Events can be played by one or two players simultaneously. This can make for a lot of fun, especially if you've got a competitive streak in you. There are two types of event: 'Race' or 'Show Off'.
A race is as it sounds - basically a race to the finish line. A total of 6 ...
Advantages: Great Trick mode Disadvantages: Lazy development Not Tony Hawks
someone you know who owns it to bring their maxed out memory card and play Untracked. It's a load of fun. Most racing games offer single-player freeride, but Tricky offers two-player freeride. Double bonus.
Once you get the controls down, the gameplay is solid. It approaches the ideal "easy to learn, hard to master" concept so many games (should) strive for. Even with the spin control delays (due to finger movement), you can pull off gobs of wicked tricks that amaze you and your friends. There are hundreds of places to catch airtime that would, under normal circumstances, be under FAA guidance. Part of the fun is finding the unmarked ramps and cliffs. Every track is immensely replayable with 2-3+ shortcuts and different rail and ramp configurations for racing and show-off modes.
One quirk in these maps is something I call the "insta ...

Album Notes
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Personnel: Tricky (vocals, keyboards, bass, drums); Costanza (vocals, guitar); Liz Constantine (vocals); Mario Munoz, Mark Thwaite (guitar); Gareth Bowen (keyboards); Steve Loria, Wayne Nunes (bass); Perry Melius (drums, background vocals); Dave Whitman (programming); Mike Black (background vocals). After a number of collaborative, guest-star-studded albums, Tricky has finally gone back to the basics with VUNERABLE. Replacing his former muse Martina Topley Bird is Constanza, whose breathy voice sounds remarkably like both her precursor and ex-Golden Palomino Lori Carson. An album in the mold of his acclaimed debut MAXINQUAYE, this outing features rock-tinged trip-hop with Constanza's airy singing often doubled by Tricky's spoken-word accompaniment. In the resulting sea of submerged beats, chilled-out covers of XTC's "Dear God" and the Cure's "The Love Cats" surface, blending well with tracks such as "Stay," "Antimatter," and "Wait for God." Tricky also cuts loose on a handful of guitar-heavy tracks, including "How High," "Moody," and "Where I'm From." Although the apocalyptic tones of his first few releases are largely absent, VUNERABLE shows that Tricky still has an edge, and continues to deftly span the genres of pop, hip-hop, electronica, and rock.
