This year already brought us the return of Dr. Dre, LL Cool J and Snoop Dogg. Eminem, Dead Prez and Outkast broke through. And on the breach of 2001, another nine "niggaz" have joined the Gravel Pit. Or should we say ten, 'cause as on the last two albums, Cappadonna features on half of the tracklisting. Who am I talking about ? I am talking about RZA, GZA, U-God, Masta Killa, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck and the imprisoned Ol' Dirty Bastard... '1..2...1...2 It's the Jump Off right now...' The Wu Tang Clan are back with another Shao Lin master class instructor disc. The album starts of with "Chamber Music". It follows into "Careful (Click, Click)", a nice gangsta-rap flavoured track. For "Hollow Bones" the Clan used a sample of Sly and the Family Stones. On "Redbull" they got the help of Redman. "One Blood Under W" is the first of two tracks featuring the soulfull Junior Reid. "Conditioner" is a duet of ODB and Snoop Dogg, the only track featuring Big Baby Jesus AKA ODB AKA Russell Jones on the album, since Mr. Jones spends these days most of his time in prison or drugclinic. Track number 7 on the album is "Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off)" B-side of "Gravel Pit" and a typical Wu track. "Let My Niggas Live" features Nas' angry rapping. "I Can't Go To Sleep" is about al the violence between and the misery of the poor black people in the US. It is followed by the presumably next single "Do You Really (Thang, Thang)" which has Method Man in the leading role. Busta Rhymes shows some of his typical rapping skills on "The Monument". The for-last track is the first single "Gravel Pit". It is the Wu's most commercial single yet, acompanied by a fabuluous video and already a big hit in the charts. The last track is "Jah World"again with Junior Reid, it's again about the misery in the world. Forget all the intermezzos typically for the Wu tang Clan and you have a great raprecord, one of the best of this year. The Clan proofs to be still vital and trendsetting and above all, true to their roots and aware of what is going on in the world.

Advantages: The range of songs which all have different feels Disadvantages: Most tracks run into each other/change so making it hard to know which track you're listening to
