...After the success of "You, Me and Us", it was a must for me to but Martine's next offering. The new tracks boded well - the cover of Donna Summer's 80s classic "On the Radio" was a great dance track. After purchasing the CD from cdwow.co.uk for a fabulous price of just £8.99 (no p&p), I couldn't wait to play it. The first track was the first she released off the album (I'm Over You). I couldn't wait to move on to "On the Radio" which was track 4 but was very disappointed in the remainder of the album. Another cover - Together We Are Beautiful by Fern Kinney (another 70s track) was just very lazy. No attempt had been made to make any changes from the original and the overall production was poor. ...I first heard the band Altan in the 80’s at a festival somewhere; I saw them a few years ago in Hemel Hempstead. I have been listening to the CD Island Angel today. I like this Celtic folk rock, I find it calming and soothing the reels lively making me tap my fingers and want too dance. Altan are Mairead Mhaonaigh playing fiddle and vocals, Frankie Kennedy Flute, low whistle, backing vocals, Mark Kelly, guitar, backing vocals Ciaran Curran, Bazouki, bazouki guitar.
