≈≈A Little History≈≈ War of the Worlds was originally written by H.G Wells back in 1898 and was later aired on the radio by Orson Wells on 30th October 1938; Orson Wells could not comprehend what mass hysteria his play would cause to the people in America. People who tuned into the show after it had begun actually believed that Earth was at war with Mars and that the human race was set for destruction. In 1953, a film adaptation was released, directed by Byron Haskin. War Of The Worlds - Hide Behind Your Cushions Now!!

Advantages: Great pacy film with fantastic special effects.
Disadvantages: A bit of disappointing ending.

***War Of The Worlds*** I love these big budget ?end of the world? adventure type films and I must be the only person I know who hadn?t seen the original version of H G Wells book, so I didn?t know that much about the movie and most importantly, had no idea of the ending. I watched it quite a long time ago, when it first aired on Sky and watched it again this week. I think it would have been a fantastic film to watch on the big screen. ***What?s it all about?*** Of course this is the perfect type of film for Tom Cruise (Ray Ferrier) to star in and I have to be honest, I prefer his performances in this type of film, rather than his more serious roles (apart from Rainman). The Draught Excluder Is Chasing Me

Advantages: Epic, Immersive, Brilliant, Rock Opera at its finest
Disadvantages: None

This is an enthralling piece of music of epic proportions, and as such, requires a review of epic proportions to do it justice. Unfortunately, this review is probably not as enthralling, but if you have the stamina then read on ? I was sat in our living room, listening to this album on the headphones. Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a flailing alien tentacle, ready to drag me into that terrible green dome and devour my flesh as surely as the chair I was sitting in. Luckily, it was just the draft- excluder, but when you're nine years old listening to a record about martians invading earth and eating humans in the hoods of their monstrous fighting machines, then it can have a profound effect on you.
